There's no denying that Wrath of the Lich King added some interesting quests. From the first time you step foot on Northrend you're greeted with some new and different quests. Let's begin by looking at Borean Tundra; a starter zone for those approximately 68 to 73.
Although you don't have to go through Borean Tundra, there are some fun quests there you might want to check out. Borean Tundra is more Horde oriented than Howling Forge, but Alliance players can find some entertainment there as well.

Neutral Quests
These quests can be completed by either faction.
Quest: Surrender… Not!
Rewards: Kill Claximus and return to King Mrgl-Mrgl for a green piece of armor, over 25 thousand experience, 10 gold, and 350 reputation with the Cenarion Expedition.
Description: The King Mrgl-Mrgl at Winterfin Retreat requests that you retrieve the Claw of Claximus from within the nearby cave. By the time you pick up this quest you've been in and around the cave a few times. To make your last journey inside the cave a little quicker, King Mrgl-Mrgl gives you a murloc suit. In this suit the aggro murlocs
will appear as friendly and you'll be able to travel deep within the cave without incident. Kill Claximus isn't anything to worry about either.
Why it's fun: Obviously, you get to dress up in a murloc suit. Aside from the benefit of not having to kill everything in a cave (if that bothers you), you look like a giant cloth murloc. Before you turn in the quest be sure to /dance, /flex, jump, etc. while in the suit. It's good for a laugh and chances are you've never been in a murloc suit before.
Quest: The Assassination of Harold Lane
Rewards: Kill Harold Lane and receive a blue ring, over seven gold, and 500reputation with the Cenarion Expedition. This is also the final quest you need to complete in order to receive the D.E.H.T.A.'s Little P.I.T.A. achievement.
Description: Arch Druid Lathorius at the D.E.H.T.A. outpost wants you to kill Harold Lane. D.E.H.T.A. has asked you to take care of the wildlife in Borean Tundra for quite some time now. After completing many quests for them, they've found the source of the animal slaughter to be Harold Lane. The suggested players on this is three, but fewer can complete it. Find Harold Lane near the lake just sound of Amber Ridge. He's a 72 elite so be sure to blow the horn the Arch Druid gave you.
Why it's fun: Watching Harlod Lane get trampled by the wildlife is poetic animal revenge. When you blow the Cenarion Horn the stampede will arrive and take about 50% of Harold's health with them. This can miss if Harold throws a trap at you and then moves.

Alliance Quests
These quests are for Alliance characters only.
Quest: Hah… You're Not So Big Now!
Rewards: After testing this on 5 crushers you'll receive a green item, almost 5 gold, over 20 thousand experience, and 250 Valiance Expedition faction.
Description: Crafty Wobblesprocket at the Fizzcrank Airstrip asks that you test her Ultra-Advanced Proto-Typical Shortening Blaster on five Magmoth Crushers. It sounds like an easy task but it can have humorous results.
Why it's fun: If and when the blaster misfires is why this one is fun. It can be frustrating if you're trying to blow through the quests in order to level, but taken in good humor misfires will make you laugh. You can become bigger, smaller, yellow, a ghost, or even Crafty Wobblesprocket herself.

Quest: It Was The Orcs, Honest!
Rewards: After planting the banner return to the Fizzcrank Airstrip and receive a green item, 10 gold, over 25 thousand experience, and 350 reputation with Valiance Expedition.
Description: In an effort to turn the magnataur's attention to the Horde, you're asked to place a Horde banner on the corpse of Magmotheregar.
Why it's fun: You have a ridiculous mask of an orc on your face. Period. Also the concept of the quest is pleasurable.

Horde Quests
These quests are for Horde characters only.
Quest: The Plains of Nasam
Rewards: After exiting the Horde Siege Tank, report to Garrosh and you'll receive a green piece of armor and 500 reputation with the Warsong Offensive.
Description: Ride around in a siege tank and obliterate 100 scourge. While you're there, you need to pick up three injured warsong soldiers and identify the scourge's leader; Kel'Thuzad. As you use the tank's abilities to kill scourge don't forget you can run over barrels to replenish the tank's mana.
Why it's fun: You ride around in a siege tank and obliterate scourge.

Quest: Blending In and Words of Power
Rewards: After scouting the Temple City you'll receive 5 gold, over 20 thousand experience, and 250 reputation with The Taunka. You'll also be able to start the Words of Power quest which will show you what you were missing with the Imbued Scourge Shroud on. Words of Power offers 5 gold, over 20 thousand experience and 250 reputation with The Taunka.
Description: With the Imbued Scourge Shroud on you can run around the Temple City of En'kilah under the veil of invisibility. Abominations can see you and if they do they'll attack. If that's the case you can easily re-equip the cloak. There are three spires to scout out with the cloak on. Words of Power requires that you kill three priests and retrieve their scrolls.
Why it's fun: It's always fun to be invisible. Blending In makes the subsequent journey into the temple less annoying. The Words of Power quest feels fresh and fun since Blending In was a simple recon mission with a twist.
That's only six of the quests Borean Tundra has to offer. It's relatively easy to complete all the quests for your faction and the neutral ones while visiting the Tundra. While you're in Northrend there are plenty of quests you'll come across that are more entertaining than just collecting five ears. We'll look at a handful of them in each zone for the next few weeks. Next time we'll explore the Howling Forge for quests that are more interesting than others.
